Join Us in Making a Difference

At United Family Haven Centre (UFHC), we are committed to building a stronger, more connected, and culturally empowered community.

We primarily serve immigrant and minority families—especially those from Kirundi and Kinyarwanda-speaking backgrounds and anyone who shares our vision. Through culturally rooted programs, we promote heritage preservation, intergenerational support, social empowerment, and mental well-being.

We understand the complex challenges of starting life in a new country—from identity struggles among youth to isolation faced by seniors and women. Our mentorship, education, and community-based initiatives help individuals not just adapt, but thrive—empowered to stay connected to their cultural roots while contributing meaningfully to Canadian society.

Our Mission

To empower immigrant and minority families by providing programs that support their social, cultural, and personal well-being, ensuring a strong sense of belonging, identity, and resilience in their new environment.

Our Vision

To create a thriving, united community where people of all ages—children, youth, women, and seniors—can connect, grow, and preserve their heritage while embracing new opportunities.

Our Values

• Ubuntu (Interconnected Humanity) – We affirm our shared humanity and interdependence: “I am because we are.”

• Integrity – We act with honesty, transparency, and accountability in all our relationships and practices.

• Cultural Pride and Preservation – We celebrate and preserve Kinyarwanda/Kirundi language, history, and traditions for future generations.

• Resilience and Healing – We draw strength from our shared past, supporting collective healing and forward momentum.

• Collaboration and Partnership – We build bridges with other communities, organizations, and institutions to advance our shared goals.

Everyone has a role to play in strengthening our community. Here’s how you can help:

"The United Family Haven Centre has such incredible stories behind it. Joy was very open and flexible to work with as we partnered to run a sport summer camp. If you are looking for a community to work with and bless, I would highly recommend this community."
